Hataka HTK-CS50 South African Air Force paint set vol. 1 (8x17ml)

Standard colours of South African planes from 1970s till 1990sIn mid-1975 South African Air Force introduced a standard camouflage scheme of Deep Buff and Olive Drab over Light Admiralty Grey, later modified by replacing Deep Buff with Dark Earth (all colours according to British Standard). Both combinations were widely used during the „Angolan Bush War” in 1970/80s and are still in use on some helicopters. Two types featured a distinctively different camouflage: English Electric Canberra (overall PRU Blue) and Blackburn Buccaneer (Dark Sea Grey over PRU Blue). It is also worth noting that due to lack of availability of original BS colours, SAAF used local equivalents (believed to be exact matches) with local colour names.Contains the following colours (lacquer based paints, optimised for use with airbrush):
  • HTK-C204 – BS Deep Buff – BS381C:360, „Kalahari Sand”, used for upper surfaces in early SAAF pattern (Mirage III, Sabre Mk.6, Mirage F1, Impala)
  • HTK-C146 –  BS Olive Drab – BS381C:298, used for upper surfaces camouflage of majority of SAAF planes from 1975 to 1990s (early and mid-life camo)
  • HTK-C205 – BS Light Admiralty Grey – BS381C:697, used for lower surfaces in early (Mirage III, Sabre Mk.6, Impala) and mid-life (Mirage F1, Impala Mk II) patterns
  • HTK-C206 – BS Dark Earth – BS381C:450, used for upper surfaces camouflage of majority of SAAF aircraft (including helicopters fleet) in mid-life pattern
  • HTK-C144 – BS Dark Sea Grey – BS381C:638, „Mirage Grey”, used for upper surfaces of SAAF Buccaneers. Also in „diamond” pattern of Mirage F1
  • HTK-C207 – BS PRU Blue – BS381C:636, „PE Blue”, used on SAAF Canberras and Buccaneers (lower part). Also in „diamond” pattern of Mirage F1
