Omask 74818 Mig 21 wheel bay plugs (for Eduard) 1/48 – wheel bay plugs for MiG-21

The Omask 74818 Mig 21 wheel bay plugs (for Eduard) 1/48 set is a high-quality modeling accessory designed especially for modelers building the MiG-21 aircraft in 1/48 scale based on Eduard model kits (catalogue numbers: BFC001, 1158, 1171, 1199, 8231, 8232, 8233, 8236, 8237, 8238, 84123, 84124, 84125, 84126, 84127, 84128, 84129, 84130, 84131, 84177, 84180, 11101, 11115, 11135).

The plugs are made of flexible foam, perfectly matched to the shape of the MiG-21 wheel bays, providing excellent protection of these areas during airbrush or brush painting. They allow complete protection against accidental paint intrusion into the wheel bays when applying coatings on the remaining surfaces of the model.

  • Dedicated for 1/48 scale – MiG-21 Eduard
  • Product category: modeling accessories, flexible foam paint masks
  • Country of use for the original: USSR and numerous Eastern Bloc and export countries
  • Material: high-quality technical flexible foam
  • Historical period of use for the original: Cold War, modern era (MiG-21 produced since the 1950s, widely used e.g. during Vietnam, Middle Eastern and African conflicts)
  • Usage: reusable, easy to apply and remove, precise protection of bays during painting

This product is particularly recommended for intermediate and advanced modelers who want to achieve perfect detail effects without the need for tedious masking of the bays with tape or masking putty. Thanks to the high precision of manufacturing, the plugs fit perfectly to the wheel bay walls, streamlining and greatly speeding up painting work. Useful for both traditional painting techniques and when applying pre-shading or weathering paints.

The set increases the level of detail and finish quality of every 1/48 scale Eduard MiG-21 model. Omask is a renowned brand whose products are appreciated by modelers around the world for perfect fit and durability.

Difficulty level: 1/5 – very easy, recommended for all modelers.

Scale
1/48

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
