Historical Description

The 21 cm Morser 18 and 17 cm Kanone 18 are German heavy guns manufactured by Rheinmetall. The 21 cm Morser 18 was introduced to the Wehrmacht's armament between 1939–1945 and was used for fire support on the battlefield and for shelling fortified positions during World War II. The 17 cm Kanone 18 served as long-range heavy artillery from 1941. Both guns were transported by the Sd.Kfz.9 FAMO – the largest half-track artillery tractor used by the German army, which could also serve as a recovery vehicle for damaged tanks. Typical deployments included battles on the Eastern Front as well as in Western Europe during World War II.
