Historical Background:

The F-15C Eagle was developed by McDonnell Douglas as one of the most advanced American air superiority fighters of the Cold War and modern times. The “C” version debuted in the early 1980s as a significantly upgraded version of the earlier F-15A, designed for total control of airspace. Thanks to its exceptional maneuverability, powerful twin engines, and advanced radar systems, the F-15C gained superiority over most Soviet and other potential adversary aircraft of its era. It served primarily with the USAF and, since the 1980s, has also been operated by the air forces of Japan, Israel, and Saudi Arabia. The F-15C participated, among others, in Operation “Desert Storm,” where it demonstrated unquestioned effectiveness in air-to-air combat.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
