Historical Description

The Sd.Kfz. 186 Jagdtiger was the heaviest serially produced tank destroyer of World War II. It was designed based on an extended Tiger II chassis. The Porsche suspension variant, replicated by Dragon in this kit, was produced in only about 11 examples. The Jagdtiger was equipped with the powerful PaK 44 L/55 128 mm gun, capable of destroying any Allied tank, and was used mainly on the Western Front, including during the Battle of the Bulge and the final defensive actions within Germany.

Model Features

  • Precisely manufactured plastic model (glue and paints not included)
  • Detailed replica of the Porsche chassis
  • Photo-etched parts provide rich detailing
  • Crisp surface detailing, realistic armor texture replication
  • Movable suspension components and a realistic gun
  • Clear assembly instructions included

Product Evaluation

The Dragon 6351 Sd.Kfz. 186 Jagdtiger Porsche is a highly recommended kit for intermediate and advanced modelers looking to build an authentic historically significant armored vehicle model. Due to its complexity and level of detail, this kit is best suited for modelers with some experience at this scale. The model allows you to create an impressive diorama from the late stages of the war.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
