The Stug III Ausf.F8 Late Production was an improved version of the famous self-propelled gun based on the Pz.Kpfw. III chassis. The F8 variant featured several upgrades compared to its predecessors – including additional "Schürzen" side armor screens that provided better protection against anti-tank rounds, as well as improved internal fire prevention design. Its 75 mm gun (StuK 40 L/48) made it effective in combat against both Allied tanks and infantry fortifications. Such vehicles participated in key battles on the Eastern Front, such as Kursk, and were also used in many other theaters – from North Africa to the Western Front.
