Aber 72A04 Osłony boczne do PzKpfw IV, Ausf.G, wczesny Brummbar / Side skirts for PzKpfw IV, Ausf.G, early Brummbar 1/72

Aber 72A04 Osłony boczne do PzKpfw IV, Ausf.G, wczesny Brummbar is a professional photo-etched side skirt set (so-called Schürzen) dedicated for Panzerkampfwagen IV Ausf.G vehicle models and early versions of Brummbär self-propelled mortars in 1/72 scale. The manufacturer is the renowned Polish company Aber, specializing in modeling accessories of the highest level of detail.

The presented set replicates the metal armor plates used by the German army during World War II, between 1943–1945. They were mounted on the sides and above the tracks of PzKpfw IV and early Brummbärs to increase resistance against anti-tank rounds and shaped charge grenades. The Schürzen side skirts were particularly useful during the intensive fighting on the Eastern Front and in Western campaigns, where they served to protect vital elements of the running gear from combat damage.

The Aber 72A04 set is made from precisely photo-etched brass with fine detail, perfectly reflecting the real look and structure of the original skirts. The set includes not only the side panels, but also detailed mounting elements, allowing for a realistic reconstruction of the vehicle down to the smallest details. Thanks to the use of thin brass sheets, the final effect vastly surpasses the factory plastic parts in kits. The product does not include the tank model – this is an aftermarket detail set (upgrade kit).

  • Scale: 1/72
  • Country of use: Germany
  • Historical period: World War II (1943–1945)
  • Material: Photo-etched brass
  • Add-ons: Mounting elements, detailed assembly instructions
  • Category: Model accessories, photo-etched parts for plastic kits
  • Difficulty level: 3/5 (experience with photo-etched parts required)

This set is recommended for all intermediate and advanced modelers seeking the highest level of detail and authenticity in their reconstructions of PzKpfw IV Ausf.G and Brummbär models. The Aber 72A04 side skirts are a guarantee to elevate your model's realism to a true competition level.

Scale
1/72

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
