Historical Description

The destroyer Z-38 was launched in 1941 and served during the final years of World War II. She was part of the Northern Group in the Baltic Sea and participated in covering the evacuation of German civilians and military personnel from East Prussia and Courland. After the end of hostilities, she was taken over by the Royal Navy and served under the name HMS Nonsuch until the late 1940s.

Why Choose This Model?

  • Precision manufacturing – realistically reproduced armament, deck equipment and superstructure, fine details such as lifeboats and radars.
  • High-quality plastic – ensures durability, easy processing, and excellent fit of parts.
  • Intuitive instructions – a clear assembly diagram makes the process easier even for intermediate modelers.
  • Realistic decals – allow you to recreate the authentic markings and insignia of the Z-38 or create your own personalized variants.
  • The model provides an excellent base for further detailing (e.g., great potential for adding photo-etched parts or hull modifications).

Target Group and Difficulty Level

Recommended for intermediate and advanced modelers – the detailed assembly requires precision and patience, which will satisfy even demanding collectors. Experience with ship models and small structural elements is recommended.

Difficulty level: 4/5 – the kit contains many intricate parts, allowing for an extremely realistic final effect.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
