The P-51C Mustang Mk III was introduced into service during World War II, from late 1943 onwards. These aircraft played a key role in the European Theater of Operations, supporting Allied bombing raids and engaging Luftwaffe fighters (Jagdverbände) effectively. The RAF operated up to 900 of this version, including through the Polish Air Forces and other allies.
