This model is an excellent choice both for experienced modelers and for those looking to expand their collection with an American naval vessel.

  • Model Type: Plastic model kit
  • Material: high-quality plastic, photo-etched parts

The USS CVE-26 Sangamon was one of four oilers converted into Sangamon-class escort carriers under the Merchant Shipbuilding Act of 1936. These ships significantly increased mobility and air support for Allied convoys during World War II and played pioneering roles in numerous operations, such as landings in North Africa, battles in Normandy, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa. Carriers of this class also played a significant role during the Great Battle of Leyte, attacking Japanese ships and aircraft, which became an important turning point in the Pacific War. After the war, these units remained in service until 1959.

The Trumpeter USS CVE-26 Sangamon model provides a realistically reproduced hull structure divided into two parts, extremely accurate deck detailing with simulated wood grain, and rich detail enhanced by photo-etched parts. The kit does not include resin elements or metal barrels, but with over 390 precisely crafted parts it enables you to build an impressive military vessel model. The included display stand allows effective presentation of the finished replica.

This model is recommended for intermediate and advanced modelers – the assembly difficulty level is 4/5 due to the number and complexity of components as well as the presence of photo-etched details. It provides an excellent base for self-adding value and achieving realistic weathering effects.

If you are looking for a detailed model of an American World War II escort carrier in 1/350 scale – Trumpeter 05369 USS CVE-26 Sangamon is a choice that fully captures the history and unique silhouette of this vessel.

Scale
1/350

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
