Roden 346 Heinkel He 111Z-1 Zwilling 1/144 – plastic model kit

The Roden 346 Heinkel He 111Z-1 Zwilling in 1/144 scale is an extremely detailed miniature of one of the most unique Luftwaffe transport aircraft from World War II. The Heinkel He 111Z "Zwilling" – which means "twin" in German – was created by joining two popular He 111 bombers with a shared center wing section and adding a fifth engine. This unusual design was developed in Germany in the early 1940s to tow the massive Me 321 "Gigant" transport gliders, which could carry heavy loads or soldiers to critical fronts. In the end, only 12 examples of the He 111Z were built, which were used, among others, during operations around Stalingrad and in evacuations from Crimea.

The Roden model is made from high-quality plastic, providing excellent fit of components and faithful reproduction of structural details. The kit is intended for aviation modeling enthusiasts, both beginners and more experienced – thanks to the simplified yet precise construction in 1/144 scale, the model will not pose a challenge for those with little experience, while also serving as an interesting base for personal modifications and detailed enhancement. In the box you will find sprues with model components, decals for recreating German World War II aircraft markings, and a clear assembly instruction.

We especially recommend the Roden 346 Heinkel He 111Z-1 Zwilling 1/144 model to collectors of World War II aircraft and to those who appreciate the distinctive lines and historical significance of Luftwaffe designs. Due to its relatively simple construction, we rate the difficulty level at 2/5.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
