Historical Description

The Sturmgeschütz III, also known as the StuG III, was a German self-propelled gun built on the chassis of the Panzer III tank. The versions designated as Ausf. A-E were equipped with the short-barreled StuK 37 75 mm gun – typical for the early period of the war. The StuG III was used by the Wehrmacht on all fronts of World War II, from the campaign in France in 1940, through Operation Barbarossa, to the defense of the Reich in 1945. Widely used for infantry support, bunker busting, and urban combat, it formed the backbone of German assault gun units between 1940 and 1942.

Technical Information

  • Material: Mantlet made from high-quality resin with very sharp surface detail for a realistic depiction of armor texture and bolt details.
  • Barrel: Precision-turned metal barrel, providing outstanding realism in miniature and perfect durability – far superior to original plastic barrels in both appearance and resistance to damage.
  • Add-ons: The product does not include additional photo-etched parts, focusing on the key details of this section of the vehicle.

Why Choose This Set?

Panzer Art GB35-011 is the perfect accessory for modelers striving for the highest precision and realism. It allows for the enhancement of any base model of the StuG III Ausf. A-E by popular manufacturers (such as Dragon, Tamiya, Zvezda), elevating the quality of the mantlet and gun detailing well above the factory standard. The metal barrel eliminates the need to straighten plastic parts. This set is especially recommended for experienced modelers interested in historical projects and World War II dioramas.

Assembly difficulty: 3/5 – intended for intermediate and advanced modelers.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
