The Trumpeter 05529 German Neubaufahrzeug Nr.3-5 1/35 scale plastic model kit is a faithful replica of the unique German experimental tank from the interwar period. Neubaufahrzeug, which means "new construction vehicle", was one of the first multi-turreted tanks developed by the Third Reich. Serial production of this type was extremely limited – only five vehicles were built in total, and the Trumpeter model represents the latest of these: Nr.3, Nr.4, and Nr.5, which were distinguished by using turrets manufactured by Krupp.

These vehicles were primarily used during the Norwegian campaign in 1940. Despite its symbolic value and propaganda role, the Neubaufahrzeug tank quickly proved obsolete in the conditions of fast-moving warfare. It was a technical curiosity and a testimony to the German Wehrmacht's attempts to develop the right armored doctrine in the 1930s.
