Italeri 5626 M.A.S. 563/568 with crew 1/35

Italeri 5626 M.A.S. 563/568 with crew 1/35 is a high-quality plastic model kit depicting an Italian torpedo boat from World War II – a symbol of the mobility and effectiveness of the Regia Marina on the waters of the Mediterranean Sea. This set, produced by the renowned Italeri company, is made in the popular 1/35 scale, allowing for an impressive level of detail and faithfully reproducing both the vessel and its crew.

  • Model scale: 1/35
  • Country of use: Italy (Regia Marina – Royal Italian Navy; World War II)
  • Material: high-quality plastic
  • Additional elements: crew figures included in the set
  • Purpose: plastic assembly model

MAS boats (Motoscafo Armato Silurante), or armed torpedo boats, formed the core of the fast naval units of the Italian Navy. From the beginning of the 20th century through World War I and II, these boats played a key role in the battle for dominance over the Adriatic and the Mediterranean Sea. The presented model refers to the MAS 563/568 series from the MAS 500 family, which entered service during World War II. These boats were powered by Isotta-Fraschini petrol engines, reached up to 45 knots, and were armed with two 450 mm torpedoes as well as depth charges, making them a formidable weapon against both Allied surface ships and submarines. They were specifically used, for example, during Italian navy operations in the Mediterranean between 1940-1943, and their legendary effectiveness is evidenced by actions such as the sinking of Austro-Hungarian battleships during World War I under the command of Luigi Rizzo.

The Italeri 5626 model offers a very high level of detail on the deck, armament, and equipment. The set also includes accurately reproduced crew figures, which significantly increase the attractiveness of diorama displays. The plastic parts are easy to work with, and the clear step-by-step instructions make assembly accessible to both intermediate and experienced modelers.

  • Historical period: World War II (years 1940–1945)
  • Assembly difficulty level: 4/5
  • Recommended for: intermediate and advanced modelers, enthusiasts of naval technology and World War II

This product is undoubtedly an excellent choice for enthusiasts of historical modeling wishing to create a realistic replica of an Italian MAS torpedo boat with its crew in an impressive 1/35 scale. We highly recommend this model to all collectors and fans of maritime history!

Scale
1/35

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
