The battleship Nagato (長門) was commissioned into the Imperial Japanese Navy in 1920 and was intensively used until the very last days of World War II. The ship became renowned above all as the flagship during the attack on Pearl Harbor, and in 1944 participated in fierce battles in the Pacific. Its innovative design, heavily armed superstructures, and distinctive silhouette set Nagato apart from other battleships of the era. Nagato survived the war to become one of the ships subjected to nuclear tests at Bikini Atoll in 1946.
The Kagero 7090 booklet contains detailed drawing plates that thoroughly depict the ship’s silhouette and construction elements as of 1944. These plans are an invaluable aid for building models in scales such as 1/700, 1/350, or 1/200, allowing replication of deck details, artillery turrets, or deck equipment in accordance with historical accuracy. Numerous color profiles make it possible to select the correct camouflage shades and painting colors, which is of great importance when finishing the model.
We recommend this product to all ship modelers, both beginners and advanced, who seek the highest level of historical fidelity. The publication serves as an excellent source of inspiration and at the same time, a practical guide for reconstructing Japanese battleships from World War II. Due to the detail of the drawings and technical descriptions, we rate the difficulty of using this publication at 2/5 – the product is accessible even to less experienced modelers.
