Historical description: Battleship Haruna belonged to the Kirishima class – the so-called "battlecruisers" later rebuilt as fast battleships. The ship was launched in 1913 and took active part in World War II operations, especially in the Pacific. She participated in battles including the South China Sea and in the defense of the Philippines and Okinawa. Haruna was one of the few warships to survive until the final phase of the conflict, only to be sunk in Kure harbor in 1945.
