The book presents the heavy cruiser Takao—a ship belonging to one of the most distinctive classes of Japanese warships of World War II. Takao and her sister ships, built from the late 1920s, were based on earlier Myoko-class cruisers but featured better armor and main artillery adapted for anti-aircraft fire. The cruiser "Takao" participated in battles in the Pacific, including the area of the Philippines and at Leyte, and operated in the South China Sea. After the war, she was the only one of her class to survive and was scrapped in 1946.
The album by Skulski and Góralski contains precise 3D renderings reproducing every detail of the ship in its historical original—including late-war camouflage. The "Super Drawings in 3D" series in this edition is based on many years of research and is appreciated by both modelers and historians for its depth of coverage and abundance of graphic details.
I recommend this product to every ship modeler—regardless of skill level! It is a complete compendium of knowledge, enabling the creation of a realistic model with attention to historical detail. Perfect for modelers building their models in 1/350 and 1/700 scales, as well as collectors of naval literature.
Difficulty level of using the materials: 2/5—the publication features clear descriptions and easy-to-read graphics, making it an excellent choice also for intermediate modelers looking for reliable historical and graphical sources.
