ICM 35591 BM-13-16 on W.O.T. 8 chassis, WWII Soviet MLRS 1/35

ICM 35591 BM-13-16 on W.O.T. 8 chassis, WWII Soviet MLRS is an exceptional plastic model kit in the popular 1/35 scale, dedicated to demanding modelers who appreciate both the faithful recreation of historic military vehicle details and interesting subjects, such as vehicles used during World War II. This set presents the Soviet BM-13-16 rocket launcher, more widely known as the "Katyusha", mounted on a British W.O.T. 8 truck chassis.

This model reflects the unique combination of Allied cooperation during World War II, when the Soviet Union received equipment under the Lend-Lease program, including British truck chassis adapted for mounting rocket launcher systems. These vehicles, like other "Katyushas", were widely used on the Eastern Front from 1943 until the end of the war, and their rapid and effective firepower earned great admiration as well as fear among both Soviet soldiers and Axis forces.

The ICM BM-13-16 on W.O.T. 8 chassis model features excellent reproduction of plastic details, with highly precise rendering of both the chassis frame and the launcher itself. Elements of the British W.O.T. 8 truck body, rocket racks, details of the cargo bed, and the M-13 rocket system are faithfully recreated. The set includes a clear assembly instruction and decals allowing for the creation of authentic Soviet markings from World War II.

  • Scale: 1/35
  • Material: high-quality plastic
  • User country: Soviet Union (on British equipment)
  • Period of use: World War II (years 1943-1945)
  • No photo-etched metal parts or resin parts included – all components are made of plastic
  • Category: plastic model kit
  • Does not include glue or paint

We recommend this model for both intermediate and advanced modelers interested in World War II military vehicles and lesser-known variants of the legendary "Katyusha". We rate the build difficulty as 4/5 due to the complexity of the launcher and chassis structure. It is an impressive addition to any 1/35 scale military vehicle collection and a great base for dioramas depicting Soviet rocket artillery on the Eastern Front!

Scale
1/35

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
