Aber 35L-230 Barrel for 17pdr. Self-propelled A/T gun “Archer” (1/35)

The precisely crafted metal barrel Aber 35L-230 is a dedicated replacement for the British self-propelled gun Archer armed with the 17-pdr cannon, in 1:35 scale. The product is made from the highest quality turned aluminum, offering exceptional detail, durability, and authenticity of features that are difficult to achieve in traditional plastic models. This is a professional upgrade for plastic models, especially recommended for all those building military vehicle models from the World War II era.

History and application

The self-propelled anti-tank gun Archer was introduced into service with the British Army during World War II, beginning in 1944. This unique vehicle was created by mounting the powerful 17-pounder gun on a Valentine tank chassis, while maintaining a very low profile, which facilitated concealment on the battlefield. Archer's typical area of operation was with British and Allied forces in Western Europe and Italy, where it excelled in ambush anti-tank missions. After the war, Archer vehicles continued to serve in several countries, including Egypt; they were gradually withdrawn from use in the early 1950s.

An excellent choice for enthusiasts of Allied vehicle recreations from 1944–1945 or for historical dioramas closely based on actual World War II settings.

Scale
1/35

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
