Historical description:
The Grumman TBM-3 Avenger was one of the most famous American carrier-based torpedo bombers of World War II, widely used on US Navy aircraft carriers. It debuted in 1944, and as a successor to earlier Avenger versions, the TBM-3 featured a more powerful engine, modern avionics, and increased armament. These aircraft played a key role in battles in the Pacific, including the Battle of the Philippine Sea and the battles for Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
Historical period: World War II (years 1944–1945), remained in service also after the end of the war.

  • Precise photo-etched details enhancing the interior and external appearance of the aircraft
  • Photo-etched seatbelts, instrument panels, and small cockpit elements
  • Easy assembly, dimensionally compatible with the Accurate Miniatures TBM-3 model
  • Distinct panel lines and numerous fine details not found in plastic parts

We recommend this product to all advanced and intermediate modelers who wish to significantly improve the authenticity and realism of their World War II aviation collectible models. The set greatly increases the visual appeal of the model, and its use brings satisfaction even to the most demanding hobbyists.

Assembly difficulty level: 3/5 – requires basic skill in working with photo-etched details and cyanoacrylate glue.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
