Historical description and use

The T-26 was one of the most important light tanks of the Soviet Army in the interwar period and the early stages of World War II. The model version Mod.1936-1937 was distinguished by an improved turret and thicker armor compared to earlier variants. T-26 tanks played a key role during the Spanish Civil War, the Winter War with Finland (1939-1940), numerous border conflicts, and the early fighting on the Eastern Front in World War II. The vehicle was widely used from 1932 to 1945, and its simple design made the T-26 one of the most mass-produced light tanks in the world at that time.
