Master AM-48-012 German aircraft machine gun MG 17 (7,92mm) barrels (2pcs) (1/48)

The Master AM-48-012 set is a high-quality modeling accessory that allows you to recreate the barrels of the German machine gun MG 17 (caliber 7.92 mm) in 1:48 scale. This model is designed for a wide range of German aircraft from the World War II era, such as the Messerschmitt Bf 109, Messerschmitt Bf 110, Focke-Wulf Fw 190, Junkers Ju 87, Ju 88, as well as many other Luftwaffe combat planes. The MG 17 machine gun was used in German aviation mainly during World War II – from 1937 to 1945, as a standard machine gun mounted on fighters and bombers in gun positions.

The set contains two precisely turned brass barrels featuring realistically rendered cooling holes (cooling jacket). Thanks to the use of professionally prepared metal, this product offers a level of detail and durability unmatched by plastic parts. Each barrel has been meticulously milled, resulting in an authentic appearance and scale-accurate detail. Assembly is simple: just cut off the original barrel from the model, drill a small hole, and glue in the metal barrel using cyanoacrylate (CA) glue.

  • Scale: 1:48
  • Original user's country: Germany (Third Reich)
  • Historical period: World War II
  • Category: modeling accessory, metal detail part
  • Material: brass, turned elements with drilled holes
  • Contents: 2 MG 17 barrels

This set is recommended for all modelers wishing to enhance the realism and detail of German aircraft models from the 1930s and 1940s. The product is especially valued by modelers building historical dioramas, collectors, and detail enthusiasts. The accessory can be used with both plastic and resin models, and serves as an invaluable addition to any World War II aviation modeling or reconstruction project.

Assembly difficulty level: 2/5 (requires basic skills, such as cutting, drilling, and gluing metal).

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
