Aber 35106 Ford GPA Amphibian "Jeep" (TAM) (1/35)

Category: Photo-etched set for a plastic model kit
Scale: 1/35
Manufacturer: Aber
Material: Photo-etched brass sheet

Product description:
The Aber 35106 set is a high-quality collection of photo-etched details dedicated to the American amphibious off-road vehicle Ford GPA – the famous "Jeep" in its amphibian version, at a 1:35 scale. The set is designed to enhance models from the renowned manufacturer Tamiya (TAM), allowing for a significant increase in realism and reproduction of details impossible to achieve with classic plastic.

Ford GPA – a brief history:
The Ford GPA was an amphibian constructed for the United States Army during World War II. It entered service between 1942 and 1945 and was mainly used in amphibious operations, as well as in crossing water obstacles in Europe and the Pacific. The vehicles were utilized by the US Army, the USSR (supplied under Lend-Lease), and other Allies. The amphibious “Jeep” actively supported troops during the Normandy landings and on the Eastern Front.

  • Precisely reproduced details of grilles, handles, hinges, and small body elements.
  • Components resistant to damage and easy to assemble thanks to precise etching from brass.
  • The set includes, among others, radiator protection grilles, lock and latch details, handles, brackets, and small parts not present in the basic Tamiya model.
  • Ideal for professional WWII dioramas and for collectors of amphibious vehicle models.

Who do we recommend it for?
The Aber 35106 set is recommended for intermediate and advanced modellers (difficulty level 3/5) who want to bring the realism of their Ford GPA Amphibian Jeep model up to competition standards. An excellent option for military enthusiasts and collectors of historic vehicles in 1:35 scale.

Why is it worth it?
By choosing the Aber 35106 set, you take your plastic model to the next level of detail and historical authenticity. The precision photo-etched accessories will not only delight detail connoisseurs, but also improve the appearance of your replica, making it stand out among other models.

Scale
1/35

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
