The Morane Saulnier MS 406C.1 was the primary French fighter at the beginning of World War II. This aircraft played a key role during the French campaign of 1940, fighting against the Luftwaffe during the defense of France. Although its design was inferior to the capabilities of the Messerschmitt Bf 109s, the MS 406 was used in large numbers and underwent many variants and modifications. The aircraft was also operated by the Finnish Air Force, where engineering improvements allowed the Morane-Saulnier to achieve better results in combat against Soviet aviation.

The Azur A114 model was designed with great attention to detail – especially noteworthy are the precisely reproduced surface panels, well-rendered pilot cockpit details, and realistic undercarriage equipment. The Red & Yellow Stripes markings are an authentic, rare variation of the paint scheme used on aircraft operating over France in 1940, meant to aid in the identification of friendly planes.

The model consists of several dozen parts, whose assembly requires precision and basic modeling experience; the recommended building difficulty level is 3/5. The set is especially recommended for intermediate modelers, enthusiasts of French aviation, and fans of unusual aircraft paint schemes. Azur’s product guarantees high-quality molds and satisfaction from building a historic model for your own collection.

What does the scale of the model mean?

A model scale designation such as 1:30 means the model is 30 times smaller than the original. Scale indicates proportion, not resolution or detail.

  • Models with a smaller number after the colon (e.g. 1:48, 1:32) are larger and have more detail.
  • Scales with higher numbers (e.g. 1:164, 1:200, 1:350) are smaller - good for collections, dioramas, or displaying many models together.
